When you let go and surrender all you've known to find truth and grace, it can leave you feeling like a newborn. The usual habits, behaviours, navigational tools you'd use to cope and exist are stripped away and what is left is something so bare, wild, true but unknown. How do you move forward from this moment... when putting one foot in front of the other feels foreign, when a breath feels like the first?
All preconceived ideas have fallen to the ground like glass balls that smash the moment they contact the earth below. Navigating without these safety goggles is releasing yet uncomfortable. Every step seems dangerous as the shards of glass from what was before glisten in every direction. But the moment you do take a step the glass turns to powder. The steps are slow and awkward at first. So many unknowns, and so much brokenness it seems you could drown in the place you stand. But as the dust settles from the first few steps, courage builds. Steps turn into swift movements, turn into dancing, turn into running.
